President and General Manager

Dr. Soumaya Yacout is a Professor of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at École Polytechnique de Montréal in Canada since 1999. She received a D.Sc. in Operations Research in 1985, and a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering in 1979. She designed and taught courses on quality engineering, reliability and maintenance for undergraduate, graduate, and professional engineers in Canada and internationally. Her research interests include Condition Based Maintenance and optimization of decision making for product quality. She has publications in journals including, Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, International Journal of Production Research, Computers and Industrial Engineering, IEEE Transactions and papers in international conferences, some of which received the best paper award. She is a senior member of the American Society for Quality ASQ and the Canadian Operations Research Society CORS.

Ahmed Sakr is a PhD candidate in Mathematics and Industrial Engineering at École Polytechnique de Montréal in Canada. He holds a MSc. and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Cairo University in Egypt. He has developed passion for interdisciplinary tactics to improve operating systems performance. His doctoral research involves simulation and improvement of complex product manufacturing systems performance through the realization of the Big data analytics and IoT technologies. He completed his MSc. and BSc. at Cairo university in renewable energy and race car vehicle dynamics respectively.

Machine learning and artificial intelligence application in operating systems, Manufacturing and service centers modeling, simulation, and analysis, Decision Making for Industrial Systems for optimal performance and waste reduction, Analysis of variance and Design of experiments, Mechanical vibrations and dynamics of mechanical systems.

Ayman AboElHassan is a PhD student at Polytechnique Montréal. He works on the migration of computer engineering concepts into industrial domain. He received his BSc (2013) and MSc (2017) from Cairo University in Computer Engineering. His graduation project was in robotics, while his MSc thesis was in motion recognition. He worked as a TA at Cairo university from 2014 till 2019. During his time in Cairo University, he worked as a research assistant for the Multimedia lab from 2015 till 2016, and as a technical marketing engineer in Mentor Graphics (Siemens AG) from 2018 till 2019.
Research interests:
Machine learning, Reinforcement learning, Learning by demonstration, Evolutionary computations, Genetic algorithms, and Engineering data management and mining.

Dr. Ahmed Ragab received a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering and the M.Sc. in Control Engineering from Faculty of Electronic Engineering, Minuf, Egypt in 2003 and 2007, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal, Canada in 2014. He is a Post-doctoral Fellow at Industrial Engineering and Applied Mathematics Department, École Polytechnique de Montréal. Also, he isan assistant professor at Industrial Electronics and Control Engineering Department, Faculty of Electronic Engineering, Egypt.

Dr. Hany Othman is an Assistant Professor since 2015 in King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, KFUPM, College of Computer Sciences and Engineering, Systems Engineering Department. He received B.Sc in Industrial Engineering and Production in June 1999, then he received M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering with tile Industrial manpower scheduling from Zagazig University, October 2005.

Dr. Yasser Shaban is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Design Engineering at Helwan University in Cairo, Egypt. He holds a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from Polytechnique which ranks first in Canada for the scope of its engineering research. He holds a B.Sc., and M.Sc. degree from Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt, in Mechanical Engineering. His research field is a diagnosis of machining conditions based on artificial intelligence.
Dr. Yasser Shaban won the best research for 2014 as a Ph.D. student from Society of Engineering and Management System (SEMS), USA. Beside his membership of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) which is the biggest community of industrial engineers over the world, the same research is honored from the (IIE) and got the best paper award in Industrial & Systems Engineering Research Conference (ISERC 2014).
Academic background:
He has been teaching at Faculty of Engineering, Helwan University since 2004 many courses such as: machine parts design, mechanics of materials, technical English, mechanics and dynamics, mechanical vibration, system dynamics and control, maintenance planning and reliability engineering.
During His post-graduate study, He has attended many courses at McGill, Concordia, Montreal, Helwan universities such as machining of aerospace materials, mathematical programming, machine learning, advanced probability and statistics, maintenance, reliability, mechanical vibration, and numerical analysis.
Research interests:
He is interested in manufacturing process, optimization of maintenance policies, equipment diagnostics and prognostics, condition monitoring and fault diagnosis, engineering management. He developed a new method for diagnosis using data driven method based on pattern recognition. Moreover, He developed a new machining process control based on the same concept. He produced more than 17 publications which published at highly rated scientific journals and peer-reviewed conferences.
His achievements are recognized by media and newspapers, and also by Nature Magazine which is a prominent interdisciplinary scientific journal and ranked as the world’s most cited journal.
